Taremi drags Inter Milan, 4-0 over Red Star

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Few problems for Inter Milan, which beat Red Star 4-0 on its Champions League debut at the San Siro and won its first success on its European journey after a draw against Manchester City. There was little for the Serbs to do, who, after conceding only Calhanoglu’s goal in the first half and starting the second half in a spirited manner, collapsed following goals from Arnautovic, Lautaro and Taremi. Inter would find the lead after just three minutes, thanks to Calhanoglu’s free kick from the right and Arnautovic’s winning tap-in, but all in an offside position, immediately signaled by the assistant. A 1-0 lead would come in the 11th minute, however, thanks to Calhanoglu’s perfect free kick that slammed off the post to Glazer’s right and into the net. Red Star responded, on 19′, with Maksimovic’s break from the three-quarter line attempting a powerful left-footer, high over Sommer’s crossbar. Shortly afterwards Inter again scored, but again offside, with Dumfries’ header judged to be in an irregular position. Inzaghi’s eleven did not stop attacking, crushing Red Star, which would come back, again with Maksimovic’s left-footed shot, again powerful but wide. At the beginning of the second half, the Serbs attacked with more conviction, frightening Inter, which, however, withstood the impact and went on the counterattack, finding, at 59′, the 2-0 goal: it was Taremi who stole the ball from Krunic inside his own penalty area and served it to Arnautovic, who was cool in beating Glazer. The Nerazzurri’s double put the match on the downhill slope, with two more chances in favor of Inter, first with the same Arnautovic, then with Carlos Augusto, but both this time repelled by Glazer. The 3-0 lead would materialize in the 70th minute, with the newly-entered Lautaro served after yet another recovery by Taremi and good at putting in the goal. Red Star collapsed, conceding a penalty kick to Inter in 77′ for Drkusic’s foul intervention on Lautaro, with Taremi sealing the final 4-0 from the penalty spot.- Photo Ipa Agency -(ITALPRESS).
