The 2nd edition of the World Triathlon Cup kicks off in Rome

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Only a few days remain until one of the most prestigious events of the entire international season: the 2024 edition of the Triathlon World Cup, scheduled to take place in Rome on Saturday, Oct. 5. The best triathletes from all over the world will compete along a course that will take place, over a sprint distance, in the beautiful Roman district of Eur: first the swimming fraction (750 meters) in the iconic pond, then the cycling fraction (20 kilometers) among the streets that run alongside the Palace of Italian Civilization and the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and finally the running fraction (5 kilometers) in the park along the banks of the artificial body of water built for the 1960 Rome Olympics. The World Triathlon Cup Roma 2024 – entirely organized in house by the Italian Triathlon Federation, with the contribution of the Ministry of Sport, the Lazio Region and Roma Capitale, the sponsorship of Coni, the support of Suzuki and the media partnership of Corriere dello Sport and Metro – will not only be an event of the highest technical level but also a great celebration for all fans and an opportunity to bring Romans and the curious closer to the triathlon.Also this year the race will be broadcast live on Rai Sport: from 09:15 to 11:00 the women’s race and from 11:55 to 13:00 the men’s.Large the Italian delegation called to represent the tricolor in this second edition of the World Cup. In the women’s race, starting at 9:30, will take part Verena Steinhauser (Fiamme Oro-1994), Alice Betto (Fiamme Oro-1987), Sharon Spimi (Fiamme Oro-1997), Carlotta Missaglia (Carabinieri/Valdigne Triathlon-1999), Angelica Prestia (Esercito/Raschiani Triathon-2002), Bianca Seregni (Fiamme Oro-2000), Costanza Arpinelli (Fiamme Azzurre-2000), Myral Greco (Fiamme Azzurre/Minerva Roma-2003) and Beatrice Mallozzi (Fiamme Azzurre-2000). Among those summoned for the men’s race, with start at 12:00 p.m., are Samuele Angelini (Fiamme Oro-1999), Nicola Azzano (Carabinieri-1997), Pietro Giovannini (Triathlon Pavese-2004), Sergiy Polikarpenko (Carabinieri-1998), Gianluca Pozzatti (707-1993) and Euan De Nigro (Carabinieri-2004). Set for 10:50 a.m. the Elite Women award ceremony; for 1:20 p.m. the Elite Men one. “The second edition of the World Triathlon Cup Rome represents a great opportunity to promote this discipline and relive great emotions, after those experienced at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
