New York, April 8, 2025 – The official mission of the Lazio Region delegation, led by President Francesco Rocca and organized by I³/NYC – Italian Innovators Initiative, kicked off today in New York. Over the course of three days, the Region will take center stage in a series of strategic meetings aimed at promoting local excellence, strengthening bilateral relations, and creating new opportunities for international development. The mission is part of the celebrations marking Lazio as the “Region of Honor 2025” of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF).
Alongside President Rocca, the delegation includes Lazio’s Vice President and Regional Minister for Economic Development, Roberta Angelilli, and the President of the Rome Chamber of Commerce, Lorenzo Tagliavanti, together with a selection of the most innovative companies and organizations from the region. Among them are Farmindustria, Confapi, Confimprese, Aeroporti di Roma, Maire, Angelini Ventures, Alfasigma, Almaviva, and 20 startups and innovative SMEs selected by Lazio Innova in the fields of aerospace, energy, and artificial intelligence.
Particular emphasis is placed on tomorrow, April 9, when Lazio’s startups will take center stage with a packed agenda of presentations and meetings with investors and key players from the New York innovation ecosystem at Civic Hall – the city’s hub for civic innovation and public-impact technology. It is in this context that I³/NYC, as the promoter and curator of the entire program, fully fulfills its mission: to serve as a bridge between Italian innovation and the U.S. market, helping both emerging and established Italian companies connect with New York’s business environment and position themselves for sustainable, long-term growth in the United States.
The day will continue with an Open Innovation event at the Consulate General of Italy, featuring a high-level dialogue on life sciences, mobility, urban technologies, and aerospace, opened by Consul General Fabrizio Di Michele. At the end of the day, President Rocca and the institutional leaders of the delegation will hold a press briefing with the media. The mission will conclude on Thursday, April 10, with a session at NASDAQ focused on investment attraction and industrial partnerships in Lazio, followed by NIAF’s Spring Gala at the Cipriani Hotel.
