The Nobel Prize for Physics in Francis Halzen for the discovery of cosmic neutrinos

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Nobel Prize for Physics 2026 was awarded to the Belgian Francis Halzen “for decisive contributions to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory and to the discovery of high energy neutrinos of astrophysics”. To announce it was the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences in Stockholm. Born in Tienen in 1944, Halzen is a professor at Wisconsin University in Madison, United States.
