On Wednesday morning, Italian police arrested 12 individuals across various cities in Italy, all believed to be part of a neo-Nazi group. They face serious charges, including association for the purposes of terrorism, propaganda and incitement to commit crimes motivated by racial, ethnic, and religious discrimination, and illegal possession of firearms. Authorities allege that these individuals were plotting attacks aimed at destabilizing the Italian state and establishing an authoritarian, racist regime. In addition to the arrests, police also conducted searches of 13 other individuals linked to the organization.
The group in question, known as “Werwolf Division,” draws its name from a guerrilla group that emerged in Nazi Germany at the end of World War II. Reports indicate the existence of a smaller, more radical faction within the organization called “New Dawn Division,” which has been active both online, particularly on Telegram, and in real-life gatherings.
