U.S., Trump’s government of the well-to-do is ready for inauguration

WASHINGTON (UNITED STATES) (ITALPRESS) – Ahead of his second term, President-elect Donald Trump has finalized his team more than a month ahead of the changing of the guard at the White House scheduled for next Jan. 20. Grand Electors in the capitals of the 50 states will meet tomorrow for an essentially formal vote, with Congress ratifying the verdicts in the first week of January.
In the aftermath of the November 5 elections, the tycoon at first nominated Matt Gaetz as Justice Secretary.
The latter stepped down after attorney Joe Leppard disclosed that two of his clients told House Ethics Committee investigators that Gaetz had paid them for sex on several occasions beginning in 2017, the year he served as Florida congressman.
Since that time, the tycoon has tacked on Pam Bondi, an attorney of his, and then composed a team capable of dividing American public opinion. In this sense, the most questionable appointments involve the “no vax” Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at Health, wrestling impresario Linda McMahon as head of National Intelligence, and anti-FBI conspiracy activist Cash Patel right at the head of the FBI.
There has also been talk of potential conflicts of interest in the appointment of Tesla patron Elon Musk to head a new government efficiency department.
In his role, he will be called upon to cut subsidies, staffing, and spending to make government more efficient, but the U.S. media fears that Musk may have an eye on subsidizing his companies from this point of view.
The same is true of U.S. journalist and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswami, founder of the multinational company Roivant Sciences, which deals with technological application with regard to drug development.
Ramaswami was joined by Musk for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a newly created advisory group that while not part of the executive branch has the power to cut government spending.
On the subject of appointments, the list of well-wishers to join the Trump administration continues with astronaut Jared Isaacman who will lead Nasa, Fiserv financial firm CEO Frank Bisignano, who was nominated by trump as commissioner of Social Security, physician and TV host Mehmet Oz as head of public health services, entrepreneur Kelly Loeffler to head the Small Business Administration, and tech investor David Sacks as head on artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency.
Trump’s new government of well-wishers will be tasked with adapting to the mogul’s campaign, characterized largely by promises to come to the aid of the working class. Among supporters who attended Trump’s rallies in recent months, there was a widely held belief that the wealth of the president-elect and those with whom he planned to surround himself would be a kind of guarantee to those most in need.
