MONZA (ITALPRESS) – Udinese won at the U-Power Stadium, beating Monza 2-1 and overtaking Empoli in ninth place in the standings, moving further and further away from that hot zone where the Brianzoli are increasingly embroiled. The Bianconeri goals bear the signature of Lucca first and Bijol later, interspersed with Kyriakopoulos’ vain goal. Udinese needed only six minutes to find the lead, thanks to a maneuver from the left that led to Zemura’s cross for the winning header by Lucca, who made his centimeters count and thus beat Turati. The Friulians start well, and a little later they would find the net again, again with Lucca, caught, however, in an irregular position before the right of the potential 2-0. Udinese goalkeeper who a little later has to intervene reactively on Djuric’s header, central but strong after Pedro Pereira’s cross. Clear signs from Monza, but at 70′ Udinese took the lead again: an excellent counterattack brought forward by Thauvin and continued by Ekkelenkamp, who serves Bijol very well, disengaged from the defense and good at finishing into the net with his right. Lively match and still Monza dangerous, with newcomer Mota hitting the crossbar on Kyriakopoulos’ cross. Udinese tidy and physically dominant in the final game, with Nesta’s team failing to materialize its last assaults and thus having to surrender its fourth defeat in the last six matches.
