RIMINI (ITALPRESS) – “A foreign boy in Italy for several years or belonging to an advantageous social condition has no problems of integration. But if in a class the majority of boys do not know Italian or know it little and do not know the values of reference of our society, the formative success and the sense of belonging to the school community are not achieved. This creates the premises for future ‘maranza’, for social exclusion or for phenomena of religious integralism. These are the facts we all know.” This is said by the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, in an interview with IlSussidiario in the Meeting of Rimini. “We need contexts that aim at learning the Italian language. To this end, we have trained and employed a thousand teachers specialized in teaching Italian to new-born foreign students. We have also allocated €13 million to strengthen the Italian study for young foreigners.”.
“We have also started Agenda Nord – which has been added to Agenda Sud – to promote policies for strengthening in schools of urban suburbs of the cities of the North and the Center where the wider the presence of foreign students – explains Valditara.
