Giro d’Italia secures long-term broadcast deal with Warner Bros. Discovery

Road cycling is experiencing one of the most exciting eras in its modern history. Riders such as Tadej Pogačar, Remco Evenepoel, Wout van Aert, and rising talent Paul Seixas are captivating fans with extraordinary performances. Their achievements are reaching wider audiences than ever, thanks to increasingly sophisticated TV and streaming coverage.

A key development is the renewed agreement between Warner Bros. Discovery and RCS Sport for the broadcast rights to the Giro d’Italia and other major Italian races, both men’s and women’s. The partnership, which began in 1998, will now run through 2029, ensuring extensive coverage via Eurosport and streaming platforms HBO Max and discovery+.

The deal also includes iconic one-day races such as Strade Bianche, Milano-Sanremo, and Il Lombardia, key fixtures in the international calendar. With over 1,000 races broadcast across more than 300 days, the offering is among the most comprehensive in sport.

The results are already visible: the 2025 Giro d’Italia became the most-watched edition ever, with a 44% increase in streaming viewership across more than 50 countries. The 2026 race, scheduled for May, is expected to feature the debut of Jonas Vingegaard, further boosting anticipation and global interest.
