RIMINI (ITALPRESS) – Three million young people under 34 usually use INPS digital services. A year after the launch of “INPS for young people”, the president of the Gabriele Fava Institute at the Meeting in Rimini presented the results achieved by illustrating the next stages of the project dedicated to the new generations. The initiative, aimed at young people between 18 and 34 years old, was born with the aim of strengthening the relationship between INPS and the new generations through a program focusing on social education and knowledge of welfare and the world of work.
The strategy developed along three directions: to be present on the channels most frequented by young people; to make the information on the welfare easier, understandable and useful; to adopt languages and formats capable of promoting participation and involvement. Today, compared to two years ago, it is easier for a boy to access the pay-out statement, the ransom graduation, bonuses and scholarships, but also to performances such as ISEE, Inclusive Assignment (ADI) or Job Training Support (SFL). Twelve months after the launch of the project, the results show a significant ability of the INPS to reach the younger audience. The young portal – the section of the INPS.it site dedicated to the services for under34 – has recorded 3.3 million visits and 2.8 million unique visitors, of which 1.7 million from the mobile APP INPS, while social media activities have generated more than 1.6 million interactions.
In the same period the share of young people enrolled in the MyINPS personal area grew by 12% and about 20% of the users coming from the youth section continued their journey by accessing at least one of the services offered by the Institute.
The president of the INPS, Gabriele Fava, said that “when we talk about security, the most natural temptation is to look back. Let us look at the suits matured, to the accounts to be preserved, to the guarantees due to those who have completed their working path. That’s right. It is necessary. But it’s not enough. A social security system is not really solid only when it pays today’s pensions. It’s solid when it builds conditions to ensure even those of tomorrow. And that tomorrow belongs to the young. Social security does not begin at the end of working life. Start with the first contract, with the first contribution, with the first choice. A young man who does not know his own contribution does not know what tools he can use and lives work as a succession of interruptions he struggles to design a home, a family, his own future.”.
Starting with this awareness, President Fava explained how the project is evolving. The INPS is progressively overcoming a model centred on the communication of the individual services to build one based on strategic audiences. The perspective changes. It is no longer the performance to illustrate, but the person to accompany.
Young people, families and fragile people have different needs, paths and languages. For each audience the INPS is creating dedicated thematic hubs, in which information and services are organized in a simple and coherent way, through channels and communication modes that can really reach citizens. The idea proposed by President Fava is to build a new pact with the young generations.
“The new pact with young people is built around a simple and concrete idea, which I summarized in the three Ps: Partnerships, platforms and conscious security. The first concerns enterprises, the first social security partner and the first place where a young man meets stability, competence and perspective. The second concerns the instruments. The Young Portal is not only a container of information, but a platform that makes the relationship with the Institute easier and more direct. The third P is the challenge on which we have to work more. Over the years, a conscious social culture has failed and we want to build it by meeting young people in places where their decisions are formed, in schools, universities, labor fairs, orientation spaces and digital channels. Dating, labs, road shows, mobile doors, podcasts, short videos and social content are not a communication exercise. They are concrete tools to reduce the distance between a recognized right and the actual possibility of exercising it. It is not a question of asking young people to think about old age. It is a matter of giving them today the tools to govern their own tomorrow. Because pension is not only what we will receive at the end of work. It is the freedom to build, from the beginning, the life that will come.”.
