Alessandro Basciano Speaks Out After Stalking Arrest, Denies Intent to Harm Ex Sophie Codegoni

Reactions stir in Italy as influencer opens up about arrest and relationship with ex-girlfriend

Alessandro Basciano, arrested for stalking his former girlfriend, Sophie Codegoni, and later released after a day in San Vittore prison, shared his side of the story in an exclusive interview with Italian influencer Fabrizio Corona. “I’m not doing well, even if I appear calm,” said Basciano, explaining that his arrest came as a shock. He recounted how he was detained after returning home from the gym, where he was greeted by carabinieri who served him an arrest warrant. “I never expected this. More than anger, I felt deep disappointment,” Basciano confessed. He emphasized that neither he nor Corona intended to harm Codegoni, who they still consider a wonderful woman.

Basciano further elaborated on his relationship with Codegoni, revealing that despite the turmoil, he had gifted her an expensive handbag upon returning from a tour. He explained that the gesture was symbolic, meant to express his desire to heal the wounds between them after a tumultuous year. “I wanted to give value to all the harm we caused each other,” Basciano said, adding that he had also written her a heartfelt letter reflecting on their past relationship. “We should have forgiven each other, but it takes maturity and time,” he remarked, suggesting that both of them still had unresolved issues that needed closure.

In the court ruling that led to Basciano’s release, the judge noted that the relationship between Basciano and Codegoni, as shown through text message exchanges, did not exhibit signs of fear or intimidation from Codegoni. The judge pointed out that the acceptance of the gift and the emotional response from Codegoni on November 11 indicated a relationship that was not consistent with the kind of fear typically associated with stalking behaviors. Codegoni had expressed gratitude and discussed their past relationship, acknowledging mutual “guilt and responsibility.” The details provided by both sides are now part of a larger legal examination.
