Television host and author Gianni Ippoliti experienced a terrifying incident over the weekend, finding himself hospitalized following an altercation related to parking in the historic center of Rome. The confrontation occurred late on the night of December 28, near the Parliament building on via de’ Prefetti. Reports indicate that Ippoliti was in a parking area when a white van approached him, leading to a heated argument with the driver.

The dispute quickly escalated, resulting in the driver exiting the vehicle and physically assaulting Ippoliti. The attack left the TV host injured and on the ground as the assailant fled the scene in the van. Ippoliti demonstrated quick thinking by recording the vehicle’s details, including its license plate, to aid law enforcement in identifying the attacker. Following the incident, he promptly called emergency services to report what had transpired.

Authorities, including officers from the State Police and emergency medical personnel, arrived on the scene to assist Ippoliti, who was subsequently transported to Santo Spirito Hospital. After undergoing necessary medical examinations, he was reported to be in good condition and later discharged. Police are actively investigating the case, having taken Ippoliti’s statement and reviewing surveillance footage from the area, which may provide additional evidence to locate the fleeing vehicle and its driver.
