ROME (ITALPRESS) – The various conflicts that have broken out in recent years continue around the world, from the war between Russia and Ukraine to clashes in the Middle East, with the involvement of other countries and the rekindling of other hostilities such as in Lebanon, Syria and Iran. Faced with such an international scenario, 1 in 2 Italians (48 percent) fear that these events are heading toward a global-world war, with risks for our country as well. In addition to the widening of conflicts, the latest actions and words of Russian President Putin are also causing concern. In fact, after the launch of a new type of ballistic missile never before launched against the Ukrainian city of Dnipro and President Putin’s announcement that he intends to continue to employ this type of weapon, almost half of the Italian population feels concerned by these utterances. In all this context, however, there is to be highlighted how the younger generation, the population between the ages of 18 and 24, shows greater confidence and optimism toward the future and the developments of these conflicts. There are more than 2 in 3 young people who do not fear escalation in a global conflict, and for half of them President Putin’s words are just propaganda.
